Growing up in rural Victoria, firearms were a natural part of life. Like many kids raised in the country, I was introduced to shooting at a young age. But, it was during my time in technical school that I discovered a real passion for the sport. Back then, shotgun practice was offered as part of the physical education curriculum — and from that moment on, I was hooked.

Before I had even completed secondary school, I was fortunate enough to secure a position at Victoria’s leading gunsmithing facility. It was there in that workshop, that I truly began to understand the intricacies of shotgun performance and the art of precision mechanics. I immersed myself in the work, learning the skills of the trade and developing a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into every fine firearm.

That experience opened the door to an exciting opportunity with Beretta Australia, where I was invited to support the servicing and sales department. Over the years, I worked with some of Australia’s best shooters, gunsmiths and stock-makers accumulating experience from around the world and servicing a wide range of firearms at competitions around the country. Over time I continued to hone my skills to an even finer degree. The technical knowledge, attention to detail and passion required in that role deepened my commitment to the craft.

Eventually, my journey brought me to the Sunshine State to pursue an amazing opportunity with NIOA, Australia’s leading firearms distributor. At NIOA, I proudly managed the workshop, delivering industry-best after-sales service across a broad range of firearm brands. The scale and professionalism of the operation gave me new insight into what it meant to support Australia’s shooting community at the highest level.

Today, after more than three decades in the industry, I have reached what many would consider the pinnacle of my career: supporting the sales, service and promotion of Perazzi shotguns.
